01Who runs this site

studycadcam.net is owned and operated by the person named below, acting as a private individual and not as a business. That person holds the rights in the site, its design, its texts and the drawings published in the main archive.

This site carries out no commercial activity: nothing is sold here, no payment is taken, there is no shop, no subscription, no account and no advertising, and everything published in the main archive is free to download.

02The sheets in the main archive

Every drawing in the main archive was made for this site by the owner, working from parts the owner has designed, measured or devised, and from published standards and component data.

Technical drawing is learned by looking at how other people draw, and this archive is no exception: existing drawings, textbooks and reference material inform how a sheet here is put together, how an exercise is pitched and how it is dimensioned. What is not done here is reproduction. No sheet is a copy, a trace, a redraw or an adaptation of another person's drawing, and no sheet reproduces the views, the dimensioning or the layout of a drawing taken from a book, a course, a catalogue or another website. Each sheet in this archive is protected by copyright and all rights are reserved.

You may download and print the sheets, model the parts from them for your own study and practice, use them in your own learning however you like, and publish the models you build, wherever you like, without asking and without crediting anyone.

You may not re-upload the sheets to other sites, mirror or rehost them, bundle them into download packs, include them in training material you charge for, or sell them in any form. The credit line printed in each title block must remain on the sheet.

For classroom or commercial use, write to info@studycadcam.net and ask. Permission is granted case by case and is usually given.

03Shapes, dimensions and resemblance

What copyright protects in a technical drawing is the drawing: the choice and arrangement of the views, the dimensioning, the layout, the title block, the graphic treatment. It does not protect the functional shape of a mechanical part, nor standard proportions, nor dimensions taken from published standards, nor the idea of drawing a given kind of component.

Parts in this archive will therefore sometimes resemble parts you have seen elsewhere. A bracket looks like a bracket and a bearing block looks like a bearing block. Resemblance of this kind is inherent to mechanical drawing and is not, in itself, evidence that anything has been copied.

Sheets here are made independently. Practice drawings of common mechanical components are produced in very large numbers, by many people, in many countries, from the same drawing conventions and the same published standards. Two people setting out to draw an exercise on the same kind of part will arrive at comparable sheets without either having seen the other's work. Where a sheet in this archive resembles a drawing published elsewhere, that resemblance is coincidental: the sheet was created independently for this site, and the existence of a similar drawing somewhere online is not evidence that it was the source of this one.

If you believe an actual drawing of yours has been reproduced here, section 05 explains how to report it and what happens next.

04Sheets sent in by readers

The Reader drawings section contains material uploaded by other people. In respect of that material the owner acts solely as a host: the content is provided by third parties, is not created, selected, commissioned or adopted by the owner, and does not represent the owner's views or work.

  • Copyright in a reader sheet stays with the person who drew it. This site is not the author, claims no ownership, and acquires no rights beyond a non-exclusive, revocable permission to publish the sheet on this site and on the archive's own social media accounts, and to remove it at any time.
  • Before an upload goes through, the person uploading must confirm that they drew the sheet themselves, that they take responsibility for it, and that they authorise publication in those two places. That confirmation is recorded and retained as evidence of the permission given.
  • Giving a name and an email address is optional, and a sheet published without them is anonymous to everyone reading the site. A submission that arrives with no means of contact can be removed at any time, without notice and without a reason being given: nothing can be checked with the person who sent it, and no one can be told if a question about the drawing comes up later. Uploading anonymously does not transfer to this site the responsibility that the person uploading has taken on.
  • A reader sheet shown on those accounts carries the credit given at upload, is posted as it was received, and is never used in advertising, never promoted commercially and never sold. The accounts in question are the ones listed in section 11 and no others.
  • The permission given at upload covers publication on this site and on the accounts listed in section 11, and nothing else. Using a reader sheet for anything beyond that means asking the person who drew it first, one sheet at a time: a sheet whose author cannot be reached, or who says no, is not used.
  • Submissions are looked at before publication to check that they fit the archive and contain nothing obviously improper. That check concerns suitability and evident problems only. It is not, and cannot be, verification that the person is truly the author or that no third party holds rights in the drawing: that cannot be established from a PDF.
  • Carrying out that voluntary check does not make the owner the author or publisher of reader material, and does not amount to the general monitoring of content, which is not undertaken and is not required.
  • Reader sheets are provided as received. The owner gives no warranty as to their originality, accuracy, dimensional correctness or fitness for any purpose, and accepts no liability arising from them or from their use, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  • Anyone who has sent in a sheet may ask for it to be removed at any time, without giving a reason, by writing to info@studycadcam.net. It is taken off the site promptly and any post showing it is deleted. Copies that other people made while it was public cannot be recalled by anyone, here or anywhere else.
  • Uploading a sheet you do not have the right to publish is a breach of these terms, and responsibility for it rests with the person who uploaded it.

05Reporting a sheet

If you believe that a drawing published here infringes your copyright, or is otherwise unlawful, write to info@studycadcam.net. To allow the report to be acted on, please include:

  • the sheet number, as shown on the page;
  • what the problem is, and on what basis you claim the right;
  • enough detail to identify the work you say has been infringed;
  • a way to contact you.

Reports are dealt with promptly. Where a report is well founded, or where the position is unclear and the drawing is not essential to the archive, the sheet is taken offline. Removal is not an admission that any infringement occurred.

Anyone whose sheet is removed will be told, where an address to reach them is held, and may reply to the same address to have the decision reconsidered.

Reports that are knowingly false or made in bad faith may be disregarded.

06No warranty, no liability

These drawings are teaching exercises, not production documents. They are not verified against any manufacturing standard, they are not checked for dimensional consistency, and nothing here has been engineered for a real load, material or process. Do not use them to make a physical part that anyone will rely on.

The site is provided as it is and as available, without warranty of any kind. It may contain errors, be temporarily or permanently unavailable, lose content, or change without notice. No undertaking is given that any sheet will remain online, and the archive may be altered or discontinued at any time.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the owner is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this site or of anything downloaded from it, including damage to equipment, wasted material, wasted time or economic loss, whether direct or indirect.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or in any other case where the law does not allow liability to be limited. Nothing in these terms affects the rights that mandatory consumer protection law gives you.

07Using the site

Uploads are limited in number and size, and only PDF files are accepted. Likes are limited to one per sheet per visitor. Attempting to circumvent these limits, uploading anything that is not a technical drawing, uploading anything unlawful or harmful, scraping or bulk-downloading the archive, or otherwise interfering with the site or its infrastructure, is not permitted and may be blocked without notice.

08Other people's material and services

Everything this site needs in order to work — its fonts, its PDF viewer, its images — is served from this site's own server. Nothing is fetched from a third party while you read these pages, which means no other company sees that you were here. Any links to other sites are provided for convenience; their content is not controlled by the owner and no responsibility is taken for it.

The fonts are Archivo, Public Sans and Azeret Mono, used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, and the PDF viewer is PDF.js by the Mozilla Foundation, used under the Apache License 2.0. Those licences stay with them.

Names of software, standards and companies mentioned anywhere on this site belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively. No affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement is claimed or implied.

09Data collected

No account is needed to use this site and no account can be created. The controller of any personal data processed here is Daniele Amato, Via A. De Gasperi 8, 35035 Mestrino (PD), Italia, reachable at info@studycadcam.net.

  • If you upload a sheet: the title, type, level, description and credit name you type, your email address if you choose to give one, your IP address and the time of the upload. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in being able to trace abuse and in being able to evidence the permission to publish, and, for the email address, your consent in providing it. None of this is published except the credit name, and none of it is passed to anyone else. Records of the permission given are kept for as long as the sheet is online and afterwards, since they are the evidence that publication was authorised.
  • If you like a sheet: your IP address is not stored. Only an irreversible fingerprint derived from it is kept, on the legitimate interest in preventing the same person voting twice. It cannot be used to identify you and is discarded after one year.
  • If you follow or write to the archive on a social platform: nothing is collected by this site, and no data is imported from there into it. What you do on that platform is processed by the platform, as an independent controller, under its own terms and its own privacy policy rather than this one. Anything you send there is visible to it; if what you have to say is private, write to info@studycadcam.net instead.
  • Everyone else: the site keeps a count of how many pages are opened and how many sheets are downloaded, so that it is possible to tell whether the archive is being used at all. No cookie is set for this, no third-party analytics service is involved, nothing follows you to other sites and no advertising profile is built. Your IP address is not stored: it is turned into an irreversible fingerprint that includes the date and therefore changes every day, used only so that one visitor is not counted twice within the same day. It cannot identify you, and what you did yesterday cannot be linked to what you do today, by anyone, including the owner. Alongside the count, the site records in aggregate the name of the site that sent you here, if any, and whether the visit came from a phone, a tablet or a computer. No record of individual visits is kept. The web server also keeps ordinary technical logs, which are not used to build any profile.

Cookies. This site sets no tracking cookie, no advertising cookie and no analytics cookie, and asks for no consent because it needs none. One technical cookie is set, and only on the upload page: it holds the session that protects the form against being submitted from somewhere else on your behalf. It contains no information about you, it is deleted when you close the browser, and it is never read anywhere else on the site.

No data is transferred outside the European Economic Area by this site, and no third party receives anything about your visit: as explained in section 08, every file you load comes from this server. Any social platform referred to in section 11 is a separate matter: it is not this site, it processes what happens on it under its own terms, and it may transfer that data wherever its own policy allows.

Daily counts are kept for as long as they are useful and may be deleted at any time; they contain no record that could be traced back to a person once the day has passed. You may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing based on legitimate interest, or ask for a copy of your data, by writing to info@studycadcam.net. You also have the right to complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

10About the domain name

This site is not the former Study CAD CAM blog and is not affiliated with it, connected to it, sponsored by it or endorsed by its author. That blog closed in 2025. This archive was built from scratch, and none of its drawings appear here.

11Official channels

This archive has no social media accounts and no presence on any platform other than this website. Any account, page, group or channel presenting itself as this archive or as studycadcam.net is not run by, connected to, sponsored by or endorsed by this site, whatever name or picture it uses. If you find one, it would be helpful to report it to info@studycadcam.net.

Should official accounts be opened later, they will be named in this section, and this section is the only place that decides what is official: an account is not official because it says it is.

12Changes

These terms may be updated. The date at the top always shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version.

13If part of this does not hold

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply, and that provision is to be read as limited to the extent necessary to make it valid.

14Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of the owner's place of residence, except where mandatory consumer protection rules give a consumer the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
